The newest semester of the Rhythm City Team Program starts in September, 2025.
Eligible participants have completed all of the RCP Intermediate Lindy hop program (or equivalent and have received instructor approval), at least a couple of Solo Jazz series, know the Shim Sham (and possibly other group solo dances, like the Tranky Doo and Big Apple), and are avid social dancers.
The program will cover the fundamentals of Lindy hop footwork, rhythm, and partner connection, diving deeper into improving technique and dance vocabulary. Throughout the series, you will have the opportunity to practice your skills with other dancers and build connections and support for one another. At the end of the series, you will have the opportunity to showcase your newfound skills in a performance! We will be changing partners throughout the program and performance partners will be chosen by random draw.
Program dates, times, cost, and location:
- Thursday evenings in the Guild room at St. Michael’s Hall, 2474 Prince Edward Street, before the weekly Rhythm City Strut.
- There are up to three session times available: 6:00-7:00 pm, 7:00-8:00 pm, and 8:00-9:00pm (participants commit to one of these time slots)
- Cost depends on length of season. GST included.
- Space is limited to 10 people in each time slot.
- Participation is by invitation only. To express interest and join the waiting list, please contact us.
Team members enjoy a discounted admission to the regular DJ'ed weekly dance, Rhythm City Strut.
As this program is a multi-month commitment, with very limited space for participants, we cannot offer your space to another dancer if you choose to stop participating partway through the program. For that reason, we ask that you be certain you can commit to the full program before registering.
