 City\, you’re sure to participate in a circle jazz warm-up: the instruct
 ors do some basic jazz steps in the centre\; the students follow on the ou
 tside of the circle. This is in the spirit of social solo dances of old an
 d is called a “big apple” with the leader in the core or centre of the
  apple.\n\nThis practice was turned into a routine by Frankie Manning for 
 the 1939 movie Keep Punchin’. Lindy hoppers around the world have learne
 d this dance and perform it for fun at evening dances.\n\n\n\n\nIn this se
 ries you will learn this routine and practice solo dancing socially with y
 our peers.\n\n\n
