
July 20, 10-11:30am – Stretch your body and mind and dance with Claudia – This class is the culmination of 15 years of dancing, yoga instruction and body explorations. The first 45 minutes of class will be continuous movement, exploration, stretching and strength building. This is not like any other work out class that you have been to. There is no wrong way to move, just the way that feels good and the way that does not. Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in because you can expect to sweat, a lot.
After 45 minutes of body explorations we are going to apply what we learnt about our bodies and moving to solo jazz. Intrigued? You should be, this will likely be unlike any Lindy hop or solo jazz class that you have tried before. Be ready to get weird. Requirements: must be comfortable dancing alone, solo Jazz experience not required.
July 20, 11:45am-1:15pm – Solo Dance and Movement with Claudia and Lisa – Learn how we practice practicing! Partnered solo jazz has been a big part of Lisa and Claudia’a practice routine for the past three years. In this class we will help you find your own dance, start getting you comfortable dancing on your own, practice actively listening to the music, working on movement, rhythms, footwork and more. Don’t worry we wont be putting anyone on the spot. Practicing Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz should be fun! See you on Saturday and practice practicing with us!
