The safety of our patrons, volunteers, and staff is of great importance to us at Rhythm City Productions. We are closely monitoring developments around COVID-19 and following the Public Health Agency of Canada and HealthLink BC for recommendations, guidance, and direction. For the Coastal Health region, the direct risk of amplifying transmission remains low, and authorities are emphasizing the need for good hygiene practices and for people to self-isolate if they are showing signs of illness or are especially vulnerable, and are not recommending cancelling any events where the public gathers.
Currently, Rhythm City classes and Thursday dances are proceeding as scheduled. We are putting the following measures in place in consideration of your health and your comfort in attending our events.
- We are posting information regarding effective hand washing in washrooms and by the water station sink at St Michael’s Hall. There will also be hand sanitizer at all class locations, as well as around the dance hall.
- The Canada Public Health Agency has published a helpful resource outlining information about COVID-19, symptoms, prevention, and actions to take in case of illness. This will also be posted at classes and dances.
- We have conducted a risk assessment through Canada’s Public Health Agency; according to their recommendations, we are not advised to make any changes to our programming.
In addition to these measures, we encourage all dancers to assess their own comfort with attending and mixing in social settings, including personal health considerations, monitor their health for signs of illness, and self-isolate if they are in any question of their own needs or those of their community.
- If you cannot attend your registered classes for any reason, we will happily change your registration to a future series with no charge or give you an account credit. Please email [email protected] for information or to request a change or credit.
Our website and social media channels will be updated with any additional actions we are implementing, as well as any changes to our schedule.
As we all adjust and take measures for ourselves, our families, and our larger communities, let’s take time to dance, to enjoy music, connection, and joy, to laugh, love, and live.
With love and swing outs,
Rhythm City Productions
